Lesley Hale

She majored in dance, and whilst a Student at Cambridge, danced with Cambridge Contemporary Dance Company as well as completing her Associates level NATD Russian Ballet. Ballet has been a constant thread though her dance life, as she still attends classes today for the joy and benefits if brings.
Lesley worked full time in Community Dance for more than 20 years, through the Community Education System that was, at that time, an innovative concept. She taught Ballet and Contemporary Dance, daily, at different Community Colleges. Lesley worked with classes from 5yrs to adults, as well as working on Summer Schools and Community Theatre projects.
Working with New Moves Dance Company Lesley directed, taught and choreographed works for the Company, who performed at many Community Dance Events in East Anglia and London. These included outdoor pieces in an outdoor Sculpture exhibition, as well as conventional and unconventional performance spaces. She performed with New moves on a regular basis and also collaborated with other artists creating innovative and explorative work. Lesley believes dance is for all to engage with either through classes, performance or watching. Those who come to classes have the desire to learn more and improve their skills. Lesley shares her knowledge of good technique with her passion for creativity, developing artistry and skill in her classes.
Lesley continues her own studies and is currently training as a Yoga teacher and has completed a BTEC level 2 in dance in Aug 2022. She teaches children’s ballet and contemporary dance with Little Stars and Foundation classes and contemporary classes at Forte Dance Academy and in local schools.
